Myspace Petition for Authors: Take a Stand!

Posted by shanibooks at 06:01 PM on August 02, 2007
Do you think authors deserve a page on myspace?

It's one thing to talk about it...but we are doing something about it.

Calling all poets, writers, authors, aspiring authors...

Comedians, musicians, actors and producers all have pages designed for their craft. Why not authors? Kerry E. Wagner and staff are working hard to change this...and we are shooting for 10,000 author signatures on this petition. There are several lists circulating throughout the literary community. This is not just for authors but for aspiring authors as well. No literary voice will go unheard. If you have not signed up leave your name and book title(s) if your book is published as a blog entry BELOW as a comment.

Change begins with you!

Is this where we sign up for the petition? I've seen several good "group" pages on MySpace dedicated to authors, but not an overall page dedicated to the craft of writing and fully support anyone trying to get that going. I'm not an author, but maintain an online db of authors and titles for bookstores and readers. If you get this page going, let me know and I'll be sure to link you to the Essence of Romance as another great resource.
~Melanie

I have a short story in Blue Moon Enchantment, Christmas Wishes, and Recipe for Love. It'd be wonderful to have a special place to showcase our books and videos!

Thanks Shani! We should have had an author space on myspace a LONG time ago. Once this happens, as a result of these efforts, it will be easier to find out about my Hallelujah series; first book, Sex In The Sanctuary (out now), sequel, Love Like Hallelujah, and more... Looking forward to meeting and networking with all you writers!!!

As the author of MEN AT WORK and the soon-to-be-released, MY LIFE AS A CONCUBINE, I use myspace.com as my web page so it would be wonderful to give writers their own literary site here.
Authors should have their space on MY SPACE because of the common interest that is specific to writers and all of its forms and genres.
====================================
THE MAYOR'S WIFE WORE SAPPHIRES
An urban political novel that takes you to live with the heroine who must save her children and the city of Compton, CA., or die.

Learn how politics affects the food you eat, the house you live in, the bed you sleep in.
Urban Classic Books
6245 Bristol PKWY # 265
Culver City, CA 90230
www.urbanclassicbooks.com
writelink3@yahoo.com
